I believe that life is somewhat like a journey down a road.
Along the way there are forks in the road. Depending on which way you go will directly effect what happens to you in your life.

Everything that occurs in our lives is predestined. The only way we can change our fate is by taking a process of self-realization. This process frees one from karmic reactions and ultimately elevates one to the highest and most elevated stage.

I do believe that God has planned out our lives for us, that whatever we do He has planned for a reason. But He has also given us the choice of free will, He will punish us if we make a bad choice.
