if it works half as good as they say, why doesnt it outsell regular air conditioners?
since it is so simple and cheap to make it should cost way less than a complex window AC, but it costs more, why?
are they greedy or hiding something?

they mention the "maisotsenko cycle" but misspell it and it is not on wikipedia so maybe it is fake

Are you referring to a "swamp cooler" or something else?

Swamp coolers only work in dry air (low relative humidity); they work by humidifying the air by evaporation, said energy (heat of vaporization) being taken from the dry air, which lowers the air's temperature. It is possible to obtain 25° F temperature drops using these devices.

They don't outsell regular air conditioners because they don't work as well, and they only work in dry air (15% humidity or so).
