If you're dating and are interested in someone new, when do you tell this someone that you are dating others?

Or is it implied because you hardly know the new person? When is it appropriate for someone to ask if the other is seeing other people?

I know the man that just asked me out is seeing other people, but I don't know how and when to bring it up, or even if I should. I hardly know him so I don't expect him to only see me, but that he hasn't brought it up is bothering me a little.

I would go out once and flat out ask if he is just looking for companionship, variety, committment, what ever else you can think of that you want answered.
Maybe he just wants to date others and no committment. Which is o.k. if you are looking to do the same. He cold be cheating on someone too in which case he probably might not tell you or may rationalise by saying something like "I'm in a relationship, but it's gone downhill or going sour, etc" I don't feel you should find someone else first and then let the other one know you want to break up and it's over. If it isn't working, move on and then find someone new.
Don't make it sound accusing, just ssay something like "I know you're dating others and that's o.k. with me for now, but......" and take it from there. Explain your questioning him about this the same way you did above. You don't feel he owes you anything because you hardly know him, but was curious about his intentions?????

Personaly since you haven't seen each other but a short time, i wouldn't say anything. It is to soon for you to approach that subject, when you see each other more and more like 2-3 months then i would just talk about how you are in a relationship, and how you feel about cheating etc.. And if he starts having very strong feelings for you then he will cut out seeing other people, unless he's a player. And in that case i would look elsewhere.
