I live in Kentucky. I know there was a recent Supreme Court decision that should have helped clear the way for this, but I haven't seen many state laws change, and I have a hard time finding details on state web sites. Help is appreciated!

From what I've read, states can't give preferential treatment to in-state breweries and wineries. The rules for in-state and out-of-state producers have to be the same. If they aren't, the state has the choice of liberalizing or tightening up the rules for all producers, so that they are on a equal playing field. There is nothing in the court's decision that would force the states to liberalize their laws. That's unfortunate for those of us that live in states with hostile attitudes towards beer and wine.

each state is different. The supreme court said if you allow the wineries in your state to ship in your state, you must allow out of state wineries to ship in also. Some states are being more difficult than others, but there are ways to get wine. The distibutors can get wine to locol tores, but check out www.freethegrapes.org
