Acid makes litmus turn red. Alkali makes litmus turn blue. But in the neutralised salty solution, the litmus paper will be dark green.

but i think litmus will turn pink when dipped into acid

What color does litmus turn when dipped into acid? A: Pink

Litmus paper that does not turn red when dipped into acid, a metal that does not conduct electricity, or petrol that does not explode when ignited could not be said to be `litmus paper', `a metal' or `petrol' respectively; since the point of referring to the particulars concerned in those ways would be gone.78 A magnet that could not magnetize, a fire that cannot burn or a pen that can never write would not be `magnets', `fires' and `pens' at all

Litmus paper ONLY tells you the pH of a solution or whether it is basic or acidic (depending on which type is used). The term Litmus is used here for the general type of papers for measuring pH, many of which are not technically litmus paper. ALL water solutions have acids and bases (water is both), and the pH is an indicator of the levels of all the acids and bases. You could have 30 acids present and 2 bases, but still get a basic pH. For the salts, some are also acids and bases and would contribute to the pH, but litmus paper does not measure salts any more than acids and bases.
