I want to bake brownies in a square pan. The only one I have is glass. The recipe only gives temperature and time suggestions for metal pans. What adjustments do I need to make, if any, to bake my brownies in a glass pan instead of metal?

Reduce your temp by 25 degrees though the cooking time remains the same. Enjoy!!

Do NOt up the temp as suggested by one or you will burn your brownies. Glass cooks faster than metal!

Glass Pan Vs Metal Pan

There are none. They conduct heat relatively evenly, but it won't make that much of a difference with brownies. You will have more variance in your oven than you will with your pans. Some ovens run hotter or colder than others.

You should grease and flour the pan first (or you can spray some Pam on it).

Just check it 8-10 minutes before your time is up with a toothpick. Stick the toothpick in the middle (which is the last part to cook/bake). If the toothpick comes out clean, it's ready. If there's still wet batter, it's not ready.

The more often you bake, you will be able to tell almost by just looking at stuff.

A rule of thumb: drop the temperature by 25 degrees whenever you use glass instead of metal.

I would watch the time but not buy a new pan. Do not adjust the temp. Just set the alarm for 5 minutes less than the desired time and then watch it. You can always add more time but can't take it away.
