No no no, its GOOD luck for rain on your wedding day.

Showers of blessings.

That is completely opposite of what I grew up hearing. Rain on the wedding day was always considered good luck. There wasn't any explanation for it but I figured it was just to make light of a dreary day. Something to tell the bride to calm her down about the cloudy and rainy atmosphere.

I have always heard it was good luck. I had a beautiful sunny day and ended up divorced. Does it really matter! The only thing I would be concerned about is a bad hair day on my wedding.

It's just an old myth, no truth in it. You can try looking it up online if you want to know where/why it began. It rained on my wedding day...we were married over 7 yrs before we split up. The break up had NOTHING to do with a rainy wedding day...more with immaturity and poor decision making.

I don't know why, but it rained on my wedding day and nothing bad happened. So it can't be really unlucky.

I had always heard that it was good luck but a friend of ours got married on a rainy day and was divorced in a year so who knows.

Its not bad luck but of course someone would make that up becuase rain is inconvenient. Thats like the easiest supersticion ever to make up.

i am not sure actually, but in my mind i love the rain so i don't see how that can be unlucky other than your dress may be ruined

Actually I always heard it was a good omen, an indication that the marriage will be fruitful. ;-)

Plus outdoor photos come out better if the sky is a little overcast instead of bright and sunny (which can wash out the colors in your pics).

You've got it backwards; rain is good luck. At least, they tell the bride that to make her feel better, lol.
