For what exactly? Kinda need to know what you are trying to paint. tan? Red? Blue?

When you go to the store they have color matching stripes you can take home and place them by the spot you want to paint to see if it goes with what you want.Another thing to do is take a photo of what you want to paint and trace it on tracing paper then take colored pencils and fill in the areas to get an idea of what it's going to look like as a final finish.

I just painted a room in a color called "urban putty". It is a nice brown. With white trim it looks very modern!

Paint color is easier to choose once you are clear on your color scheme and have purchased other items for your room such as bedding, upholstery, and flooring.

well kid, you didn't say much else...my wife took a year to pick the just right colour for the exterior of this house, and 3 years for the just right colour for the kitchen...but i'm a guy and i can live in a cave...really...colour makes no difference to me as long as i am fed and out of the elements. so eat a sandwich and paint it white.
