Socially- Higher Crime Rates from Illegal Immigrants, more gangs composed of illegal immigrants. A higher prison population made up of illegal Immigrants. Currently, 50% of the prison population in Arizona is made up of illlegal Immigrants.
Culturally- What culture? Ours is changing to cater to theirs. They do not assimilate, which is why there is huge spanish writing on everything and tiny English writing (at least it is in Arizona.) Not to mention teachers are now required to learn Spanish to cater to their children who refuse to learn a word of English.
Economically- Our Economy is suffering! Instead of the money they earn being put back into the economy, its sent back to Mexico to help theirs. They don't pay taxes (if they paid taxes they would be documented.), and they are paid under the table. It costs us, the American Tax Payer to pay for their children, to pay for their medical, and for any other benefit they recieve per their children born here.

It makes the greedy richer that's all. I don't really think our tax money are hurt by that. Although I don't think it's right to get smuggled into a country at an alarming rate. I actually praised these guys for risking their own lives for their own and family betterment. They have far more courage than you and I who are lazy Americans that want things for free and doing nothing for it. So It doesn't make me feel like I can't sleep during the night or something.
Most people in this country if any at all were in the same situation as these illegal immigrants are, they rather steal or rob a bank that really makes no sense or an inexcuseable reason for them to do so. At least there are something about these illegal immigrants like they rather go places with courage risking their own lives to find better life than thinking they're stuck and go rob a bank or steal. As you should know, Mexico also have their own banks, how come these people didn't rob their banks or steal. Ever think of that? These people aren't doing anything to hurt you or I, they just want opportunity like we do, and the only place to find them is here, in the US. I am not a traitor to our country or anything like that. I just have to think unselfishly and may give other people a chance or something before we actually become judgemental of others. Good enough, yes?

In 50 years the US will be a piece of crap like mexico then the mexicans will do the same to Canada, and keep moving upward until they over populate all of North America and ruin the world much as they have done with their own huge country.

To me the stupidest thing about it is that all these mexicans are going to places that once belonged to mexico. They are also places that have a less valuable culture than mexico. Mexicans are 50% decendant from native americans. Who are we to say they don't belong here?
Diversity only helps a society. People have a misperception about america, in that they believe america has more diversity than it once did. It has far less diversity today. Sure there is ethnic diversity, but even different ethnicities behave and think alike now. This is a horrible thing. America got its strength from the fact that it was a nation filled with people from different walks of life and different beliefs. Over the years, these different walks of life have integrated into one walk of life. Nothing ever evolves if there is no variety. Today we have almost no variety. Everyone thinks the same thing about most everything.
Politically, I also don't see how americans have a leg to stand on by not allowing Mexicans here. While mexicans jump across the border to "exploit" the american economy, American corporations are jumping across the border on the other side to exploit the Mexican economy. If you want to close the border, close it off to the corporations also.

It is having a detrimental effect on our society because it has been realitively unchecked in recent years. We are a melting pot, supposedly, but immigrants are getting passes not to pay taxes nor learn the language. I don't buy the whole they are taking our jobs, because the jobs they are usually taking are ones few Americans would want to take. I am proud that Americans are being exposed to other cultures, and I believe that we should practice tolerence, but most immigrants that I come into contact with don't bother to mesh with this culture.

I think that all these illegal immigrants don't pay hardly any taxes and also they get a ton of social security when they retire, no matter how long they were in the US and no matter how long they paid into it, they are ruining our economy, even though they are pretty much the ones who will work for crap. Socially and culturally, I don't know and I don't care anymore cause nothing will change. They cannot be stopped unless they put a wall of soldiers along the mexican/US border.

I think it is at epidemic levels and has been ignored for too long by big business loving government officials who now blame the people who were coaxed here by big business with dreams of having a better life. I do not think our government can really fix the mess they have created and unfortunately HUMAN BEINGS are being criminalized and dehumanized because they wanted a chance at a better life.

i dont think, its fact for anyone that wants to investigate it.
economically they are a large underclass of the lowest skilled and paid workers. ask mexico if this is good. they are also being paid health care and other things that the democrats are intent are giving them. in short, they will bankrupt the country if allowed to continue.
socially--a lot are criminals as evidenced by the fact that 40% of the california prison system is made up mexicans.
culturally--they do not integrate. thats why u have to hear spanish on ever recording and read it on your bank deposit slips

Economically I suppose they are a great benefit to the ultra-rich big business owners......but I don't find them an "economic advantage" to me and alot of other Americans. They take jobs from Americans and limit the ability to get other jobs because they refuse to speak English.
Socially we are having alot more crime. They are not assimilating into this culture. They are causing heavier divisions in our society.
Culturally.......destroying our culture.
