I can't find how much my painting is worth. I have looked at every website that has his name in it but still can't find what I'm needing. This is a portrait of a little boy or girl who falls asleep on a chair with a bowl of milk in her lap and a cat is drinking out of it. It was painted in 1866. Please give me any info you can regarding how much this is worth. Thanks!!

I don't know why you need to know its worth. If its to sell its one value and if it to insure, its another. If this artist has biographical listings and descriptions of his other work you can collect it and keep it with the work. Do not clean, re frame or otherwise fuss with the work. This sounds like a typical sentimental genre work of the period. IT has value. Consult a professional appraiser. They are licensed. Their valuation is legal. You will just have to pay the fee. Look them up in the phone book
