What gives you the idea that without evil there would be no good? This would only be true if the evilness and goodness of things was purely relative, that is something is only good if it is better than something else, and something is only evil if it is worse than something else.
If you believe such a thing then evil and good are arbitrary concepts, who is to say where evil ends and good begins?
On the other hand, if there is a God who is the creator and therefore the author or reality itself, and he says what is good (he has defined goodness as love and evilness as anti-love), and he created a universe which was meant to be only good, then it is possible for there to be good without evil.

A good GOd created a good world, but had the potential for evil.
I suppose evil becomes an opportunity to see more of God and more of our weaknesses than before. Opportunuties for loving merciful acts, seeing the mercies and faithfulness of God in a way not possible. In a way its like turning on massive spotlights on sides of GOd that could not be seen as God shows mercy to sinners and redeems and restores them.

I guess it makes sense kind of like you have to have pain in order for there to be joy because you have to know what's better than pain all the time you know?? But without evil I think that would make us neutral if anything. it does get you to think early in the morning though.

That is so stupid. IF there weren't evil all would be good. There isn't going to be any evil in heaven, because all will be good and righteous. Praise the Lord!

evil is a strong word. To say bad and good is more comparable. And no I don't think bad explains good.
