If you are Jewish and are looking at Christianity, Catholicism will fulfill your expectations beyond anything a protestant church could.

Read the book a Hebrews in the New Testament. It was written to the Jews of the first century to convince them that Jesus was the Messiah they had been awaiting. So it should help you understand what authentic Christianity looks like. What other Christian church has a priesthood and offers sacrifice in a sanctuary "in a copy and shadow of the heavenly sanctuary (Heb. 8:5)"?

Catholicism is the natural fulfillment of Judaism. Study history and you will see that the Catholic Church was the original church. Don't listen to people like Holly Marie. People will come up with superficial objections, but nothing substantial.

Holly Marie,
Your name sounds a lot like Holy Mary. Did you use to be Catholic? Where you led astray by Bible quotes taken out of context, like the ones you typed here? You say, "do not call anyone on earth 'father'". 1 Corinthians 4:15 says, "Even if you should have countless guides to Christ, yet you do not have many fathers, for I became you father in Christ Jesus through the gospel". So obviously your interpretation of Matthew 23:9 is flawed.

You say, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do". Of course, this is true. But, your understanding of it is imperfect. For James 2: 14, 17 says, "What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith does not have works? Can that faith save him? So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead". And verse 21, "Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar?" Abraham, who is called father in apparent contradiction to your first miss-quote, was justified by works.

Jewish n proud, there will be many vicious attacks on Catholicism, all of which have simple answers as I have provided here. If you are searching for true Christianity, I urge you to study church history and compare it to protestant claims.

May I humbly submit my website as a good place to start? I have studied many years to learn the answers to common objections to Catholicism. I will save you a lot of time.

If you accept the canon of the Bible from the 4th century, and agree with Sacred Tradition (which is all that early Christians had until the Bible was compiled in the 4th century), you would be a Catholic. If you only accept what is written in the Bible, rejecting Sacred Tradition, and reject the original canon, preferring the King Jimmy Bible, which has several of the books removed, you would be a Protestant.

The problem with Protestantism, is once you start protesting, there is no stopping it. That's why there are thousands of Protestant sects. The Catholics have their own problems. There are priests and bishops who have lost their faith and gotten into all kinds of problems (including homosexual activity), and even promoted heresy. If I were pope, I would move to remove these renegade clerics.

As an Eastern Orthodox Christian, I see them as two sides to the same coin. Only by the grace of God are we saved. This life is but a trial by which we are made better, more like God.
To respond to one of the other posts here: The reason many Protestants go on about Catholic's "Mary worship" is not the reason it is to be scrutinized. Praying to Mary, or any other saint, for intercession (or asking them to pray to God for you) is fine. Changing the status of Mary by making her birth the same as that of Jesus (born of God and man) is not. At least that is Eastern Orthodox doctrine (which hasn't changed much since the apostles and was Catholic doctrine before they changed it).

If one was "proved" correct - won't ALL religions "die" and their followers turn to the correct religion?

Whenever two things do not agree with each other, it does not mean that one is right and the other is wrong.
