1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 drivers side front cylinder is #5 . # 6,7,8 are on the same side of vehicle the pass side is cyl 1234 distributor turns clockwise. good luck 289's are great motors

Easy, 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. From front of block on pass side is 1234, from front on driver side is 5678. And your distributer spins counter-clockwise.

its on the intake manifold, #1 is LF
