I've got a kegerator, is there a way I can gauge the beer level of the keg?(besides pulling it out and feeling how heavy it is) Basically, I want to avoid having a party and having the keg kick after 3 beers. Last night it kicked on us and caught me totally off guard.

As long as you keep the tap in place and the keg refrigerated, the beer will last quite a long time (a couple of months?). If you remove the beer and try to store it in some other container, it will go flat and stale very soon.

Pull the keg out of the keggorator for a few minutes. Condensation will form on the keg where there's beer.

i like the scale ideas mentioned above. some friends and I were mulling this over as our keg got lower and lower on New Years... how beer companies attach indicators to their kegs? the kegs are reused so it's not like it would be much of a burden to try and do so. anyway have fun with your kegerator!

No. You must drink it all to know if it's empty.
