Yes, research a process called "thermal reconditioning" or aka japanese hair straightening, "TR", Rebonding...its all the same. Its recommended that you wait 2 weeks after getting it colored and two weeks before getting it colored.

chemical straightening sucks, do not do it. mi mom had it done and it did like nothing to her hair, a straight perm might be better cuz thats what i got and i just wake up with super straight hair. also try blowdrying damp hair on low pressing the opening of the dryer to a barrel brush, and pushing down, works like a straightener, takes less timee, and i can do it b4 i go to bed

Well, i am just speaking from what i have heard, i have no personal experience chemically straightening my hair, but when i talked to my hair dresser about getting my hair chemically straightened she said that you do permanant dammage to your hair by having it straightened. She told me you would do less damage from straightening your hair everyday with your straightening iron, then you would getting it chemically straightened. So, i chose to keep straightening it with a flat iron.

Depends on your hair type/texture. If it's really course and you are having all this done in a salon then it should be ok but it might dry your hair out but if you use good product and deep conditioner treatments it will be fine.

NOOOOOOOOO!!! don't do it. it will TOTALLY kill ur hair. not only will u never b able to go back to ur old hair (and trust me u'll miss it) it'll take a loooooooong time to get it silky and pretty. I reccomend a wet straightner, u straighten ur hair when its wet, it doesnt kill ur hair, its fast, and its cheap.
