The reason I am asking is because we have a litter of 7pups that are three weeks old. They are almost pure black, short coated, and very big. I've never seen another cross like it. They'll be fabulous family dogs going by their personalities but I'd love to be pointed to pictures. Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify, we obviously didn't intend the cross, happened in kennels when we were on holiday, oh well, these things happen! I'm able to judge temperament having had puppies in the past, and the fact that we own both their parents and they have the most wonderful temperaments probably helps. Also, raising the puppies in a house with kids means you do get to know their characters quite well. Anyone seen any?

The hope that they will be great family dogs is wonderful, HOWEVER both breeds are prone to aggressive behavior and Kuvaz are NOT for everyone and generally DO NOT make GREAT family dogs!!! They are a GUARDING breed and so by nature have a reserved and potentially dominant personality.

You cannot tell at three weeks what they will be like. Screening of homes should be a MUST as should Puppy Aptitude Testing at 7 weeks. This can point out puppies that tend toward dominance and a high prey drive.....not really something that makes a good family pet for most people!

I have not seen a X between these two breeds but I do own a Rotty X German Sheppard, I have had her 7 years and have never once had a problem.
Mixing breeds can change certain breed tempermants or traits.
Ensure the pups are given a good, loving home and I am sure there will be no problems. :)
I will see I think these pups wil grow to be a large breed!
A pup treated with respect will grow into a relible, loving, family dog.

I have not heard of that mix. We have a rottie x Gt dane. 8 yrs old. Never had any problems and never shown any sign of aggression however no responsible dog owner of any breed has to be responsible. I agree that agressive breeds should not be crossed as you are potentionally creating a monster and if they are as big as you say then they need strict rearing so as to be properly controlled in public.

nope, never seen a cross of this type, but would like to ask,why are so many people crossing these breeds now, what is the appeal, surely each breed is purchased for their own traits,I am seeing so many different crosses with many guarding breeds, rottiexmastiff, staffsxneos, are there not enough breeds already, now am not trying to cause a row, just curious, have been asked a couple of times if people can use my mastiff at stud on their rottie or neo,and I have turned them away,I just do not understand the reasoning behind this, surely if you have a pedigree female, you would like to produce more of the same, honestly not trying to stir,am really interested

And the point of this cross was ?

No way can you tell the personality of an adult at 3 weeks.

Hopefully, both parents were health tested for all the relevent hereditary diseases of both breeds.

Oh yes they will be fabulous FAMILY dogs- probably rip the faces off them.

They will only be good for biting people.

How can you tell the personality of a 3 week old puppy? ... I'm fascinated.
