No, sadly and unfortunately the attitude and treatment we receive by most of those who have no religion on this answers section alone proves that they are not capable of love, respect or tolerance on others. I do try to remember that the atheist I know outside of this forum are good, kind and decent people.

If you mean to have a personal relationship only with God and no segregations into different beliefs and denominations, though I do not think it would work since people tend to group off under the best of circumstances...it would be nice - cal

Organized religion has caused a lot of suffering through out the ages. Atheism or simple deism would be better. The trouble is when people start thinking of the out groups as bad.

John Lennon had that idea in his song "imgaine". The problem would be the nutcases that think God's telling them to do things that are wrong. You need to have some form of doctorine, some sort of order. Otherwise, it'll wind up like "Lord of the Flies".

As long as there are people on this planet who still believe that we are all here because of a deity or deities, there will be problems in this world. Take God out of the equation, and your idea is a good one.

Religion is not needed. Its just common sense really. Follow the laws of the land, and treat people how you like to be treated yourself and you cant go wrong.

Logically, what you are saying makes sense. However, reality says different. God, the creator of the universe, loves each human being He ever created. He wants desperately for each of us to spend eternity with Him (heaven). However, we have a tendency to make choices that separate us from Him (sin). And, He loves us enough to allow us to make those choices. He says in the bible (His word) that the consequences (wages) of sin is death. Sin separates us from Him. That is why He sent His Son (Jesus) to be the only perfect human being and, therefore, become the sacrifice that pays for our sin. The choice is ours. We can accept the gift He gave us in His Son, allow Him to pay for our poor choices (sin) and spend eternity with Him in heaven. If we do not accept this gift, we cannot spend eternity with Him because our sin (poor choices) is in the way. Therefore, we spend eternity away from Him; away from all that is good, light, love. That is hell. He does not send anyone to hell. He does, however, allow us to choose it.

I agree that religion itself is not the best solution. The best solution is to have a relationship with the God who created the universe and us; and with His Son, who loved us enough to leave heaven and paradise and come to earth and suffer on a cross to pay for our poor choices and behavior so we could spend eternity with Him. That's love.

It is the life path that determins one's way of life. I suggest that we should learn to change our life path . I have seen a program created by 'Robert Serafino' for attaining peace and happiness in life. I think it is a must that every one of us must visit the following site and get the benefits!

Mankind is twisted and evil. We are
all sinners. No matter how good a
person is, they still fall short. Why
else did God give us the Savior.

Gee, aren't those the "christians" that atheists tell us are in jail. You know the ones who said GOD told me to mate with that 11 year old girl, GOD told me to take that money, GOD told me to kill that person.

We are still treating others equally! Religion is boring, deism might be better, I think
