Do NOT give the dog a bath so soon after Advantage was applied..it will ruin the effectiveness!! Also seeing live fleas after the application of Advantage or Frontline is normal and actually you want ot see this as it means it is working..you need to give it time to work..it will take up to 12 - 24 hours before it totally takes effect. Do NOT use any kind of OTC flea product (collars & shampoos included) on any dog especially a puppy..they are ineffective and very, very dangerous..they cause bad skin burns, neurological problems, seizures & death. They contain very high concentrations of toxic pesticides. Do NOT apply ANY other flea product on this puppy until the 4 weeks is up and it's time to apply another dose. At this point the only safe thing to use on the puppy is a flea comb and comb out the fleas and put them in alcohol or hot soay water then flush down the toilet or rinse down the drain. (also be advised that Advantix is nOT safe for use on young puppies and the breeder was in error for applying it to this puppy)

Did the breeder put the correct weight appropriate dose of Advantix or litterally a drop? Advantage and Advantix are packaged according to weight. Flea and tick products you purchase over the counter usually do not owrk. contact your vet and get your puppy in for a check up and advice on the fleas.

Advantage and Frontline are great products... BioSpot also works great for me and is more affordable. But if you just got the dog YESTERDAY and the breeder had JUST put it on her... You should NOT have given her a bath. It probably washed it off. You will probably need to re-apply some on the shoulders of the pup and NOT wash the dog for 2-3 days.
Perhaps before you apply some Advantage or Frontline... Give her another bath, and make sure the flea shampoo sits in the fur for at least 10 minutes. Then apply the Advantage or Frontline (or whatever).

The best you can do for now is to go over her fur with a flea comb and drowning the fleas in a glass of water. Not only with this get rid of the fleas but it will relieve the itching. Don't put anymore flea medicine on her since you could possibly hurt her.
Also since she brought fleas into the house, you'll want to vacuum everywhere she's been. Put a flea collar into the bag or into the bagless container. If you like an herbal remedy, you could spread fleabane or chrysanthemum petals and leaves whereyour pet may roam in the house.

Advantix is pretty strong medecine for a young toy breed puppy.
The breeder should take care of her flea problem before selling any puppies.
Frontline is a much better choice for toy breeds.
The advantix will work getting rid of the fleas, it will just take a few days.
