Get a list, think of the things your partner does not like so you know that will not help (or the other way) and see if there's something that's not on the list so u can plan it and try to do it. If you're both in college have something sent to him, a message something simple to start with say how much u like to see him and can't wait to be with him all day. Go on a short road trip, do hiking, eat out like you would on a picnic. Get the phone book check out what attractions are near by, do a local search on-line.
I did paint ball once with my girl because she wanted to try it also I took her on a walk on the beach and movies, she likes some of the things i do but you might want to do something else if it's not your taste.
hope this helped.

I'm taking my gf to NYC as i cooked for her the past 2 Valentine's days. I'll get her flowers and a small present. I've been with her for 6 years. Go out to eat then go back to your dorm and watch a movie.

Hey girl!! Doesn't it SUCK that Valentine's Day falls on a freaking WEDNESDAY?! I am also in college. My boyfriend and I have classes that day too. GRRRRR.

But anyways, I have no idea what we're going to do either. And guess what? Valentine's is ALSO our anniversary. All I'm saying is leave it up to the guy to surprise us. : }

Dinner and movie. Either cook dinner and rent, or eat out and catch a movie.

Have a romantic dinner. And do what you feel like doing there. DON'T HOLD BACK.
