By far the best site is dentalplans.com. What you will get for a one-time yearly fee is a network of dentists in your area that agree to work for significantly reduced rates. You can prequalify the particular network to see which dentists in your area accept the plans, and then even call the dentists to see exactly what their prices will be if you are are on the plan. There are several competing "networks", so take your time to pick the one that makes financial sense. I used one of their plans a few years ago when I needed surgery, and the plan cost me $79 for the year, and it reduced the cost of the surgery by 40%.

they also have excellent telephone support... call them to ask for help with terminology. You can do this even before becoming a member of one of the plans. Also try dentistry.com for terminology questions.

Good luck

http://www.deltadentalca.org/pmi/dentalplans.html

Delta Dental provides individual dental insurance. As part of their dental package, orthodontics is included: the cost is approximately $97 a month, though. After two years, you would have spent $2,400 in fee rates and had Delta pay approx $2,400 in ortho care fees. Not much of a savings, if your sole cost only includes orthodontics and not other dental care. Here is their fee schedule: http://www.deltadentalca.org/pmi/individual/ortho.html

It is also sometimes cheaper to go directly to the company and buy individual plans than to go through a broker - like an internet broker. Brokers charge additional fees which you pay out monthly or yearly.

I do not know what humana dental charges, however you can also customize plans. Plus, unlike Delta, there are more plan options: PPO and HMO. I think the general PPO plan which includes orthodontia might have a lifetime max of $1,000. However, you can customize the plan to cover up to $2,000. I am sure the customization includes additional fees.

The Delta Dental and Human Plans are insurance plans vs. Dental Discount Plans like those typically offered on dentalplans.com, which provide a discount of 20% or more on set fees with participating providers. Compare the monthly/yearly fee costs with the overall treatment plan cost to determine how much money you will save, if any with the insurance companies. And then do a comparison cost of the Dental Discount plans to know which wil provide the lowest reduced cost for you. Good Luck.

It is difficult to find dental insurance without being in a group. You might try Delta Dental to see if they are in your area. However, the coverage for things like braces is small maybe 10% of charges. And there also may be a waiting period involved. Doesn't hurt to try though.

I too am on your boat, needing braces. I even have dental coverage although, even even though it does not conceal braces. for this reason that's going to value me merely over $5,000. the forged information is the earlier and after photographs make you prefer to get them much greater!! Plus i could think of maximum orthodontists take month-to-month money...say pay over 20 months. I additionally found out that aside from popular braces, there are different centers offered including invisalign which value comparable to popular braces!! this technique merely takes a sprint bit longer yet at the instant are not important!! sturdy success!

I can definitely recommend http://www.everyonebenefits.com/40424269/. They are a company that helps people who can't afford retail on their benefits - everything from braces to medical care to vision for less than $12/month. There's no hidden fees, copays, deductibles or anything like that at all. They are a very reputable company and will save you thousands. Rather than paying expensive premiums every month, then deductibles and copays, you just pay a small percantage of what the orthodontist normally charges out of pocket and that's it! You won't find another company that can beat their plan, especially on braces. Check them out and please email me if you have any questions. They are a member of the Better Business Bureau. Good luck.

My wife works for a company that offers discount dental benefits. It is really reasonable. $19.95 for household, and $11.95 for individual. It is up to 80% discount with no limits or deductable.
