Ho do you get psychological help in NYC if you do NOT have health insurance? It's more difficult (and expensive) to get medical health here if you don't have insurance. Any advice? Thanks..

I know that the membership with the My Simple Card has
psychological component included, i.e. it will reduce the
cost of your mental health services.
Just search by zip code to find a
participating psychologist/psychiatrist near you.

I’ve included a few links in the Sources section that might be of interest. First is the New York City suicide hotline, in case you need help immediately. The next two links are to New York City free clinics and other local neighborhood options. I’ve also included a link to the state and local offices of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). You also might want to check out Mood Garden, which has been recommended to me by a friend who struggles with bipolar disorder. It’s a community support site.

If you would like to revisit the option of having health insurance, try visiting MostChoice.com. You can compare New York health plans online and speak to local area insurance agents without any obligation. Just tell them what you want, what you want to spend, and let them do the legwork.

You can find MostChoice here:

Try calling your local United Way. They usually offer therapy/Counseling through a program called Family Services and it is based on your income. If you need medication, they can usually find or reccomend to you a psychiatrist that does the same. Also, check with your local DHHR office as well. Good luck.

At first try to find out what is the cause of your situation or mood. Is it logical you react to this conditon in general just to a particular person or to everyone. then classify yourself in what group/type of psychological problem you have.Is it conrtollable by yourself or you need medicine.will the medicine help you or will you be depended on it forever.
most psychological drugs are experiment base n u need them all life.for eg sleeping pills.
