It would have to be bigger than New Jersey. Especially if he wanted any of those animals to live, because they'd have to be in different enviornments. I would say at least the size of Alaska.

Dimension of the Ark: 300 cubits x 50 cubits x 30 cubits. (Gen. 6:13-16)
If the cubit used is 18" then conversion gives us the following dimensions: 450 ft x 75 ft x 45 ft
Deck Area of the Ark: 450 ft x 75 ft x 3 decks = 101,250 ft2
Volume of the Ark: 450 ft x 75 ft x 45 ft = 1,518,750 ft3
The following calculation show the amount of the ark space that would be required to carry the stated number of animals, based on the average size of a sheep.
40,000 animals x 11.125 ft3 = 445,000 ft3 OR 445,000 ft 3
1,518,750 ft3 Ã 100 = 29% of the Ark's capacity
By the way the Ark didn't carry 7 pairs of every animal only of "clean" ones. (Gen. 7:2-3). If an animal were unclean, which the vast majorities were, then only one pair was taken aboard.

A classification of animals is to be noted in God’s instructions to Noah to take with him into the ark seven of each clean animal and two of each unclean animal. (Ge 7:2, 3, 8, 9) Since a flesh diet had not yet been authorized, this distinction between clean and unclean was probably determined on the basis of what was acceptable to Jehovah as a sacrifice. Hence, on emerging from the ark, Noah knew which creatures were clean and suitable for offering upon the altar. (Ge 8:20) At that time no restriction existed with respect to the type of animals that Noah and his family could eat, as is indicated by Jehovah’s words: “Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for you.”—Ge 9:3.

Scripture tells us what the size was. 300 cubits by 50 cubits. Scripture tells us he took one pair of every animal, and 7 of the clean animals. (That very likely is 7 individuals, not 7 pair). You might recall that the animals walked into the ark by themselves. (Noah didn't have to go round them up) Did the Almighty intervene, and do some kind of miracle so it would work? Very likely, why is that a problem?

How big will a space ship to Mars have to be to build a colony.
Let's get into reality. Remember GOD is a wizard at time, space, matter and energy. That's a given. God CREATED the universe, so he has to be a wiz, all man has learned how to do is blow up Hiroshima, you know the Soddom and Gormah trick that God used.
Now, the fastest we travel is 35K. Mars gets close to the Eath once every 20 months or so. There have to be "windows" of opportunity to make a trip. Mars varies from 33 Mil to 50 Mil every 15 years. A round trip to orbit Mars once takes 4 - 8 months of travel time.
How, how big is that tin can going to be?
Bushy boy is talking doing it in THIS CENTURY and I agree with him, but I'm also a realist.
Could you live in a Lear Jet for 8 months with 7 other people?
And what do we do it for. A week around Mars to take some pictures.
Now, it takes 10 pounds of Water, Air and Food PER DAY PER PERSON. That's 20,000 pounds (what is that 10 tons) of supplies to do an 8 month round trip, not inlcuding fuel.
Boy, how BIG is that ship going to have to be to store 10 tons of supplies and 8 people.
Now, how do we build a colony. Earth movers, cement, steel beams, nuclear power plants, air processing plants, water processing plants, CO2 soaks, and 10 pounds of consumablers per day per person.
Once ON MARS to build a colony you can't even TRY to come back or get new supplies for 15 months.
That means you stuck there for 15 months and then it takes 4 months to move back and forth once they align.
That's 19 months to get home or wait for fresh supplies.
How many people does it take to build ONE 5 story building the size of a football stadium.
Any idea what is involved in making a LANDING site.
YOu have to clear a football field and then cover it with rebar and cement to land a shuttle and it must be FAR from the base so it don't crash into the base.
So you have to build a ROAD to the base.
YOu have to build your Nuclear power plant away fromt he base becuase of the Chernobal syndrome
Any idea what Bushys and the Scientists have PROPOSED and how unrealistic it is give current techology.
Do you know how many prop driven cargo planes it took to mobilize the Iraqi war which is only a few thousand miles away, not a mean distance of 40 million miles.
And SCIENCE is proposing this and I'm in favor of it, but realistically it ain't going to happen til 2200 or so.
Now, sit down and figure out EXACTLY what it would take to move MEN, MACHINERY, AIR, WATER, FOOD, CEMENT, BEAMS, REBAR 40 million miles when you have maybe 20 windows of opporunity every 20 months.
That is what it would take to build a simple office building on Mars.
I watched 5 guys build a house down the street with PREFAB construction. It took a full month without space suits in good weather to build a single family dwelling.
We will be in 100 pound space suits, with 2 hour bottles of air, working in a place where the mean temperature is -20 F that might be prone to falling meteors that will not disintigrate in the thin air.
We will do it.
How
Where there's a will they're a way.
Noah had an expert Phsycist and Engineer help him and he built it to specifications.
Maybe if we knew what a Cubit was we could make an Ark to fly to Mars that would hold everything.
Remember, don't think in two dimensions. Eistein said there are 4 and some say there are 18.
do you know how much two dimensional space a DIAMOND takes up on a wall if you spread out all the 3-D facets!
Don't limit your thinking. That kind of thinking almost kept Columbus from making his trip.

The ark was suppose to be two football fields. They were to take two pairs of unclean animals plus the seven.
God told Noah to make it 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high.
I hope that will give you some measurement. Some Bibles will give you cubits. One cubit equals 21.6 inches or if you are in another country 550mm.

CORRECTION there were 7 pair of every clean animal and 1 pair , male and female, of every unclean animal. and they went into the
300 cubits long
50 cubits wide
30 cubits high
Cubit is approximately 17-22 inches. ( measured from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger).
So the ark was between 5,100-6,600 feet long
850-1,000 feet wide
510-660 feet high.
WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!

The ark was 450 feet, by 75 feet by 75 feet high and was 3 stories high. It held two of all unclean the animals, 7 of all the clean animals and eight people. Does that help.

Not 7 pairs of all -- 7 of the clean and 2 of the unclean.
Think more like Rhode Island.

7 times larger than one designed to hold a pair of each. Did Noah collect ducks for the Ark?
