The eyes he gave us are very easy to damage, susceptible to infection, very limited power.--Very poor design

Very short trouble free operation, long sightedness, short sightednes, astigmatism and the rest.--- Very poor workmanship, and no after sales service!.

Cannot blame the Devil for this one, unfortunately!

As I read the answers so far, I wonder why people prefer to invent such absurd explanations, rather than admit that the evidence before our eyes is that the idea of God is nonesense.

Maybe "god" just wants to give us incentive to memorize the bible, so he does it with the threat of us losing our eyesight?

(christians will tell you it's a result of sin and that adam and eve had perfect eyesight)

Our eyes, like the rest of our bodies are an incredibly complex set of systems which all work together to perform a function.

Over millions of years these systems have developed slowly, with slight variations perfecting the organ little by little. The eyes we use currently are just one of countless solutions to the need for sight; yet another example of the wonder of natural selection in developing over time.

Our eyes deteriorate with use, and due to genetic factors, because they are an organic and complicated system with some way to go on the evolutionary road.

Along with Fairies and Unicorns, 'God' had nothing to do with it.

definite, God is able to grant it, yet then what which skill ought to loose would have. i understand, you already suggested now to not flow for this way yet, thats the numerous reason. In some jews phylosophy books, is a believe that even Lucifer argued hostile to God about loose will, he informed God, thats there changed into no propose to deliver Jesus, that basically took far flung from us the loose will, and then we wont be able to sin anymore. Gos has the skill to save us all. in case you study the bible in Exodus, he makes a decision to make the Pharao heart chilly and not uncomplicated, GOD needs the Pharao to be hostile to his will. He has the skill of adjusting your existence on condition that you ask him to do it, thats the purely way, HE WONT replace the international direction if the international is hostile to hime, even contained in the bible is standard the international and God are literally not the same and is totally not the same.

what a stupid question, well not really a question its a statement, have you any idea what WE put our eyes through everyday, and how many man made things cause all the problems, tell you what why not blame God because to have to cut our toe nails, if you had any idea on how the eye works you would realise how stupid you are to state such a thing

God is not incompetent. Man was made perfect in the Garden of Eden. Man made the decision to leave fellowship with God by disobedience therefore, a process of death, disease and, deterioration came up on us. Which is Satan's plan to avenge God.

We have the invitation to enter this perfect fellowship with God again, by accepting His Son, Jesus, as our Lord and Savior. God has a plan for us to live forever with Him and He will restore all of our imperfections in Heaven.

Also, He has provided the technology of glasses for now.

I like my glasses, which I started wearing fulltime when I was in my mid 40's. They hide my dark circles under my eyes which I have been trying to hide since I was about15 (its a family inherited thing) I would never choose to have eye surgery or wear contact lenses.
Many members of my family including one of my sons is colour blind so I am grateful I did'nt inhereit that even if I seem to have passed it on.

Oh, C'mon-give God some credit. Perhaps A.)He knew the guys that enjoyed crafting eyeglasses would want something fun to do and would like to feel needed....and B.) by the time some folks reach middle age they feel as though they've seen it all anyways.
Besides-If we had perfect vision all the time, for all our lives, we would probably deem ourselves unstoppable, call God incompetent and would never do anything in good faith.

Well, maybe because we are incapable of know how amazing our bodies really are, considering we don't really use that much of our brain, if we were able to use more of our brain we could grow a new limb if we lost one, we could overcome many ailments but since we sell ourselves short, and abuse this amazing gift that was given to us, then we limit ourselves.

Your eyes are limited so that maybe you will realize that you must look WITHIN YOURSELF for answers to Life's big questions, and also realize that there is no god higher than YOU. YOU ARE MUCH LARGER THAN YOU KNOW. YOU INCLUDE EVERYTHING! GOD=LIFE. This is your wake-up call.

The eye is in fact a brilliant design.
No human engineer could come up with anything to come colse to it.

The fact that our bodies wear out is becuase we live in a fallen world - the whole of Creation is 'groaning'. This is a result of the Fall which since you mention it, is a result of tempting by the Devil.

Next thing you be coming up with that favourite claim that the eye is wired up backwards. Not so.

The human body evolved to live to around 35 or 40, after that, unless you take great care, things start to fall apart.
