Keeping them in a bowl is just slowing killing them, they are considered pond fish for a reason. Comets need around 50 gallons each when adults, should grow between 12-18 inches and can live for 20+ years. If you can't properly take care of them you should return them and think about getting another type of fish, or if you really like goldfish at least get a fancy goldfish. They only need a minimum of 20 gallons when adults and can get 8-12 inches long. first of all, chill with the changing the water thing. yes, youre' doing it too much.

second, that bowl is too small for two comets.... get a 10 gallon tank from petsmart and get a filter and bubbler for it. they'll live much longer happier lives.

when you have a tank, you take 20% of the water (2 gallons of a 10 gallon tank) out and replace it with new water every week or two.

with a bowl, you might do it every day or so, just to make sure they have enough air.

yes, condition ALL water that you put in the bowl. i'd fill an empty water jug with room temp tap water, and condition it by the gallon, so you know that you're not putting too much conditioner in it.

fish eat in the daylight, so, i'd feed them first thinginthe morning, then once in the afternoon sometime. just make sure that you don't feed them any more than they'll eat in 2-3 minutes. too much food can make them sick.

good luck, and definately get a bigger tank!!

Nothing that may are living fortunately. A heater can support ward of sicknesses and parasites, and so much tropical fish desire a heater. And a two gallon is a bit of small, when you caught a heater in there it would turn out to be a shrimp farm. No goldfish. ("'(o.o)/"')
