I am over 25 and have yet to acquire any kind of taste for alcohol. It's not usually a big deal, but I can't even enjoy drinking socially. Is there some kind of really mild drink thta I could start off with? Even fruity drinks are hard for me to enjoy.

The taste of beer and most liquors literally makes my stomach turn...I can barely even get them down because of the horrid taste! However, there are a few drinks that please my palate. Alize Ruby Red Passion is a nice bottle you can get that is rich, fruity, and not too strong. You can barely taste the alcohol, and its not sugary or fizzy.Turning Leaf white zinfandel is light, juicy, delicious, and the only wine I've been able to enjoy thus far.

If at a bar or somewhere with a bar, I order Kamikaze shots...they are strong yet citrusy & tasty. The alcohol takes a backseat to the sweeter flavors, but you will FEEL it after 3-4 shots. For a slower affect, I would ask for a Kamikaze drink instead, which is normally served in a small glass with a lime or cherry for you to sip with a straw. After finding that initial drink that pleases your palate, you'll eventually be able to experiment more, and find other drinks you enjoy.

Some peoples brains process tastes differently. While alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine may taste "gross" to some people, to others they can be very refreshing and flavorful. If you haven't acquired a taste for alcohol by now, chances are you will probably never grow to like it. As for being able to tolerate it, try a liqueur mixed with seltzer or club soda over ice for a refreshing, low alcohol drink.

This is like someone saying that they're trying to acquire a small smoking habit...don't do it. If you're a fun person to be around and anybody is making fun of you - then they're probably nobody you should hang around with anyway.

As a long-time drinker, I would gladly switch places with you. If you feel odd hanging around a bar without drinking, have a cranberry and soda water with a lime.

If you don't like or drink alcohol consider yourself lucky. A lot of people who start out drinking socially become alcoholics. Deary, count your blessings and leave it alone. It's much harder to kick the alcohol habit than it is trying to acquire a taste for it.

Have you tried an Amaretto sour? it kinda tastes like kool aid. Don't beat your self up over not having a taste for alcohol it's OK not to drink. But since you are looking for something, I would start with Amaretto sour, Malibu and sprite, or Malibu and pineapple juice, or Sangria. Good luck

if you don't like it, don't drink it! alcoholism is a huge disease. Better to not start if you don't like it to begin with. If you are in a social drinking situation, just have a coke with lime or a frozen drink w/o the alcohol. most people don't ever notice that you are not drinking alcohol and most don't care.

I like most alcohol, I have since I was about 20. I'm wondering if your body is telling you not to drink it? However, maybe you could try starting with a sweet liquor and thin it with club soda.

dilute a drink so that the alcohol is barely noticeable and little by little make the drink more noticeable. That's how I learned.
