Nylon didn't exist before 1935, but there is a strain of bacteria that eats it.

Steve N, one of the key arguments of ID is that net information cannot be gained through random mutations.

OK, yes humans eat artificial junk. But these bacteria actually metabolise and derive enrgy from nylon. That's a big difference.

oldguy - fair enough but it is a common argument that is used by Creationists and ID proponents against evolution.

Gary F. If you are talking to me, try reading through some of my questions and answers. BTW, I did my bachelor's in ecology & evolution, so I know a fair amount regarding biology, genetics and evolution.

Typically, Creationists do not understand anything about it, nor do they care to. They are just concerned with the mindless recitation of the misunderstandings, distortions, and lies of their leaders.

For example, I suspect that you do not know the number of nylonase genes in Flavobacterium (four, including one duplicate) or Pseudomonas (two).

You do not really know anything about biology, genetics, or molecular theory do you?

Edit -

Sorry, I took it as a leading question.

Ketchup.

There's also the evolution of certain bacteria and viruses, like influenza and HIV.

Intelligent design means that God created the system including evolution. Evolution is a fact and it does not conflict with intelligent design.

I started to read your link but it started with a statement that Christians believe... and then went on to tell us what we believe. I don't believe what he said I believe, so the question doesn't mean anything to me.

There are a whole lot of things we put into human food that didn't exist a few years ago, and yet there are humans who eat it. What's your point? If creationism had half as many holes as evolutionism I would be less confident. They are both religions, followed by many people. The difference is that evolutionism is taught as "fact" in government schools, and most people are brainwashed.
