I woke up a couple days ago and my right nostril felt odd. Over the past few days it has become red and swollen on the outside. The pain seems to be emanating from the inside, but the whole front part of the nostril hurts when the slightest pressure is applied to it. Any idea what this might be and how to treat it?

possibly an in-grown and or infected nostril hair. i have had similar problems with this and usually it takes care of itself in less than a week.

It sounds like you may have a blind boil or something.. these are similar to acne.. the only thing that you can really do is grin and bare it.. try using warm compresses on the area.. this will sooth it.. and also speed up the healing process.

I think it came from picking your nose or trying to pull out hairs with a tweezer. You probably have a small infection there (equivalent to a zit). Let it alone and keep your finger out of there and it should be OK soon.
