Atkins, South Beach, etc. Or get a nutritionist and do the protein-sparing modified fast. You will lose weight fast, but ...

you won't keep it off. As soon as you so much as smell a carb, WHAM! 20 pounds right back, exactly where you don't want them.

Suggest you eat less, exercise more, make better choices. Or join Weight Watchers.

Low/no carb diets are worthless for weight loss. What is going to happen is your set point is going to be lowered by a starvation response, making it harder and harder to lose weight and you will binge on carbs a few weeks or months of dieting.

What you need to do is eliminate refined carbs and limit poor glycemic index foods. Eat healthy foods only. A healthy food is high in nutrients and bulk but low in calories and has a good glycemic index. A good example of the difference is comparing a McDonald's Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal with a skirt steak and salad meal. The McDonald's meal has double to triple the calories, little fiber, fewer nutrients and is almost all ultra-refined foods with a very poor glycemic index. You eat it and (if you don't **** your pants later on) you are hungry again a couple hours later. That meal makes you faaaaat. Just to add insult to injury, it tastes like styrofoam dipped in grease. The skirt steak, is very tasty, low in calories and fat but high in nutrients. The salad adds even more nutrients, alot of fiber and bulk and almost no calories. This meal will keep you satisfied for hours after you are hungry again from McDonald's. And because it has a good glycemic index, you won't feel like binging when it is time to eat again. This meal makes you thin.

Get a book on the G. I. Diet from Amazon.com or your local bookstore. These books go into great detail about which foods are good to eat and which are not. All that is necessary to lose weight is to eat only healthy foods (green light foods in terms the book uses). Eat whatever amount is reasonably satisfying to you. Absolutely do not skip meals as this triggers binging. Watch as you steadily lose 1 to 2 pounds a week with little effort.

A zero carbohydrate diet is fairly unrealistic and unattainable.

You need complex carbohydrates as a part of good balanced nutrition. Low carbohydrate diets are pretty much acceptable -- but they are more a 'lifestyle' than a finite regimen for weight loss.

More exercise, adequate fluid intake (in the form of noncaloric WATER), and 18-24 grams of insoluble fiber will go farther than the pursuit of a no carb diet.

You need some carbs...but instead of eating white bread, pasta, etc...go for carb products with healthy carbs and lots of fiber...pick preads that say "whole grain" or "whole wheat" on the lable...these carbs don't get stored as fat, and give you energy and help your system get rid of the food faster. Also, eat more salads...throw in some grilled chicken in them, and drink plenty of water.

no carb diet is not a good diet. Please get the Zone Diet by Dr. Barry Sears, it is a good carb vs bad carb diet. It has list of foods that cause insulin levels to peak..Your brain uses carbs for it's food, if you eat only protein your brain will break down muscle to get the carbs it needs NOT fat.

If you exercise for 1 hour a day, either walking or anything. You can eat carbs. All your portions of food, you eat now, cut them in half., and you will lose weight.
