I've been injecting turkeys and chickens since the 1970's. I worked with a vet and got this idea that it would miisten the white meat in a turkey. It did and l still do it today.
I use several different ones. You can mix chicken broth & Marsala wine, you can use a white wine, lemon juice mixed with chicken broth. Wine alone isn't bad either. Or you can use any premade or homemade marinade. The trick when injecting is to not use a syrupy liquid.
I even used raspberry vinegarette once and made a raspberry sauce over the finished chicken. It was really good.

I've never injected a chicken before (What a great idea!) but when I'm baking it, I put garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, parsley, and salt and pepper on. You could probably mix that with some water so that you can inject it.

It all depends on your cooking method. Roasting, simmering, etc. Primarily chicken is seasoned with salt and pepper, poultry seasoning, or thyme, rosemary sage, bay leaf, garlic/onion powder, seasoning salt...any or all of the above work. For different flavors try rosemary and garlic or teriyaki or BBQ sauce. You can invert a whole chcken over and open full beer can and roast for moist ,beer roasted chicken, use different ales, lagers or even a stout.

use a SOFTENED butter mixture of parsley, minced garlic, lemon juice and a seasoning blend called Nature's Season it is by Morton. mix this well and inject chicken with meat injector or with a turkey baster. just poke a hole with a knife and insert with baster.
Also add Guiness Ale to your usual barbq marinade 24 hours ahead of time and your chicken will fall off the bone.

If you want to inject, melt a stick of salted butter, add some finely minced garlic, pepper(regular or spicy), juice from 1 lemon and inject into legs, breasts, thighs...personally, I'd just "soften" the butter, add the above ingredients to it, put back into the fridge to "tighten/harden" up a bit ; remove from fridge and add butter "under" the skin with your hands! just loosely open skin and add the mix! It permeates the meat plus makes the skin extra crispy!

the best way is to marinate the chicken, not inject it.
there are numerous marinade recipes available on the internet.
some folks use italian dressing.
my favorite is 8 parts pineapple juice with 1 part teriyaki sauce and green onion added.

Stick part of an onion, a rosemary sprig and 1/2 a lemon in the cavity. Rub a mixture of butter, salt, minced garlic and more rosemary UNDER the skin and cook it in a cooking bag. Do this for turkey too. Makes it VERY moist and delicious.
