I don't mean to the extent of having OCD, but just generally being obsessive about different things.

Obsessions are linked to anxiety. I personally believe that sensitive people are more prone to anxiety so they are the ones to tend to become obsessive.

The rituals they carry out gives them a feel of security, but that feeling is short lived and the ritual has to be performed again and again and again.

It could be that you have a addictive personality so when you like something done a certain way you get addicted to having it done that way and you obsess over it. I am that way I don't think you should be worried unless your doing something bad.

I do believe there is something genetic or biological to the behaviour.
