This sounds more like a Windows ME issue than a Word issue. Either way, it looks like your MS versions don't match. ME is very squirrelly.

In the meantime, you might try cleaning out your Internet cache and Internet and offline temp files. Run a disk cleanup, defrag, then disk cleanup again; turn off the computer; completely unplug the rascal; then try again.

If that doesn't do the trick, you might uninstall Word, do all that cleanup work, then reinstall it.

Next stop, as far as I know, is the tech desk or repair center. Others may have more helpful tips.

First chance I'd get, I'd upgrade Windows. AND Word. The 2000 version of MS Office was squirrelly too, as I recall. MS is about to change to Windows Vista, and that sounds to me something similar to the change from Windows 98 to Windows XP.

There are some great buys on brand new, very powerful systems out there right now until the end of January. If you can't do this, however, you can't. It would be the easiest if you could.

You might also run a virus scan, which would be an excellent thing to do anyway, especially if you're planning on trying to back up your files again.

Good luck!

Hmmm...you wish any person to do your homework or you wish to have the MS phrase and Excel manuals? All MS merchandise include HELP documents but when you wish to have articles at the two merchandise, the exceptional means is to take a little time to make use of MS phrase and MS excel. Suffice to mention, Excel is extra for worksheets and mathematical calculations and macro formulation.
