This would be an invasion of privacy. I can see your point however it is the responsibility of every individual to know you they are sleeping with and that person's history and if they so choose then they can not getting married to someone who's not willing to take the test. We do not want the Government involved. Can you begin to imagine the discrimination when they start mandating testing for other thing's. While they're at it they will add mandatory drug testing before you get married. Testing to see if you are really a virgin may be an option for $100.00 more. Again it's up to each and every individual to make that choice. If you feel that strongly about it then there's nothing wrong with asking the person your with to take a test. You can order them on the Internet and do them at home. I had the person I am with take one as did I before we had unprotected sex.

Good Luck!

Screw that! If you don't trust them enough and know them well enough to know if they have any dieases then you shouldn't be marrying them!! I mean my god whats this world comming to when the government has to make a law that involves getting an HIV test before you can get maried? That is private and personal information and if you can't or don't trust the erson you are with then you shouldn't be marrying them anyway... lets move on

simply by advance in HIV and AIDS, many states now require that activities using for a marital license must be provided an HIV attempt and/or must be presented with assistance on AIDS and checks accessible. at present, no states calls for a mandatory premarital HIV/AIDS attempt. So, truly, that's mandatory in some states that you'll be able to be provided the attempt, notwithstanding it isn't required to take it.

What point would that serve? Most couples have sex prior to marriage and many even have children...waiting until (and if) they decide to marrry is a lot like closing the barn door after the cow has escaped.

The govt is involved enough in our lives without putting out new laws to restrict us even more. Intellegent people will want to take the test but no the govt should not make it mandatory to take them
