I am Black and White. I have thick hair that is relaxed and it goes to about my shoulders. I REALLY want some side-swept bangs. My mom says I shouldn't get them because they will look crappy due to the texture of my hair.

What do you think?

It won't look crappy if you keep them conditioned and straightened. It may just require more work from you on a daily basis. My daughter is also bi-racial and has bangs. They are cute on her but we have to really keep them conditioned so they don't break off. Be very careful to not cut them too short. Just start with a little change and go from there to see how you like it.

if you want to i say you should do it and since your hair isn't really long anyway, you could just let your bangs grow out then cut your hair the same length if it doesn't work out.
