Remember, with EF Tours, all of your accommodation, breakfasts, some lunches and all dinners are included in the price of the tour, not to mention ALL of your transportation! This does not mean however that you should avoid tipping, if the service is acceptable. The rule of thumb when tipping in Europe is 10% or one Euro, whichever is greater. Most of the money you will want or need will be for other things, mainly souvenirs you will want to bring back and for any other things you want to buy outside of what's included in the tour. For 8 days, bring no less than $500, but I strongly recommend just bringing a couple of hundred to have in your pocket and use an ATM card for the rest as you will get a much better exchange rate and wont have to worry about carrying so much cash on you. Also, don't forget to tip your tour guide as they work for tips and are a valuable part of the tour.

You should bring lots of money because this is an expensive country to visit. Eating out is especially expensive. The exchange rate from € to $ is about $1.30 to the Euro. A typical lunch here will cost you €10 without drinks and this can as much as tripple after 6pm. Be prepaired to be broke when you leave!!!!

My family live in Ireland and I recently got back from being on holiday over there for 15 days as my boyfriends granddad is ill with Cancer. We took 1,000 euros between us and ended up needing more money 7 days into the holiday. We had a house over there so we didnt have to pay for accommodation and a car, but the price of food was ridiculous. We went to Tesco's one evening and bought NO MORE than 4 bags full and it came to 90euros. We simply bought bread, milk, butter, spuds etc. just the basics to last us for a few dinners. Cigarettes are ridiculously expensive over there.....16euros for 40. so if you smoke I suggest you bring some with you. For a pint of larger and a bottle of Bud was 9euros and that was in a pub in the village so expect to pay more if you're going to the City! Taxis are expensive too aswell as petrol!! I got the Ferry over and had to get the coach upto Donegal (Which is BEAUTIFUL) and that was 40euros single......we then drove down to Tippereary! I would honestly suggest to take more than 1,000 euros just to be on the safe side as you dont want to leave yourself stranded! Also make sure you let your phone network know you are going over so you get a cheap tariff as I forgot to tell mine and I ended up paying £1.18 to RECEIVE calls and a little bit more to make them! I also want to add me and my partner only went drinking 2 nites out of the 15 we were there because it was so expensive (Plus not many people have money over there to go out drinking so was pretty dead anyway) Irelands a beautiful place and I hope you have a fab time.....everyone will make you feel welcome and I know you will love it.....but it IS expensive so make sure you save as much as possible so you dont have to miss out on having a good night due to lack of funds! ENJOY!!

I'd say €1000 to be safe but have a back up plan like at least €250 in traveller cheques that you'll only spend if its an emergency. have a great trip :D

Bring about 500/650 euro. Ireland is Europes most expensive country for consumers. so keep that in mind too.

you dont realy have to tip, only if its good service, or if you have a cab.
Use the dart & Luas to get around.

Around E500/800 should do good.
