It's not going to kill you if you eat it, but it's not going to make a very nice salad. It'll be horribly soggy and mushy and just a mess. I would say find the nearest rabbit or deer and give it to them, and then send your brother to the market.

You can't freeze lettuce. It's the one vegetable that does not come out of it well at all. It turns mushy and you won't like it.

I don't think there will be anything left of it when it thaws out. Freezing messes up it cell structure unless it's something like bib lettuce. It won't hurt you, but I don't think it will be palatable.
