Plasma is somewhat superior to LCD for picture performance.... but barely. LCD monitors have been around much longer and the technology is much more perfected. Did they have plasma computer monitors in 1992 like the guy below says? Nope. Plus, plasma is a dead technology. LCD's are more versatile than plasma because they do not suffer "burned pixels" after pausing a movie or game for a lengthy amount of time. So, buy LCD and forget plasma.

Some facts -

The first domestic plasma television appeared in 1992.

The first domestic LCD television appeared in 1995.

Modern plasma and LCD televisions have similar life expectancies (check out the home pages of Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, and Hitachi for proof).
