Lord where I come from red wine is for children, nobody would even dream of keeping some for later. No booze in Scotland would ever go off. It is also tradition when you go to a house with a bottle/s of whisky, the top is taken off and thrown in the fire. Leave bevvy, are you wise. And if you don't know what off wine tastes like try coming here to a party and watch all the left over whisky, wine glasses getting consumed before the party is over. Is it not the same with you. Great fun, next day a nightmare hangover, but worth it for all the crack. You Scottish people know just what I mean don't you ? We dont waste a thing except ourselves and we always reach the stage of emptying the bins to smoke the tabbies. You I guess must think I am off my rocker but thats the way it is. An English man can get pissed and hover over a half pint all night. We on the other hand hooover everything up at a party. As for your question, stick your left over wine in to some food. I once made trifle for a funeral and mistook the sherry for malt whisky - boy was it a great party!!

Actually I've kept wine, recorked, in the refrigerator for as long as a month. I am not your typical vin snob but I've never had a problem. Although I usually use the balance of the bottle to cook with.

Depends on the temperature mainly. Keep it corked, and in a cool dark spot and it should last a month. If it does change, don't discard it. Place it on the counter and add to it every once in a while. It's called ''red wine vinegar'' and it's great on salads among other things!

Not long, I finish it that day because by the next day it's not right (at least not to my palate). You can purchase a vacuum sealer that will lengthen the time by removing the air from within.
Edit:
Holy smoke!!! A month?!? Man that must be Boone's Farm or NightTrain. Eww!

I wouldn't keep it longer than 2 days. Even at 2 days, I'll only use it for cooking.

Once oxygen gets to it, a day or two. Even by day two you will see a noticeable loss of body and overall flavor.
