My daughter was stillborn at 32 weeks in May last year. I had heaps of tests, scans etc and have been given no medical or physical reason for the stillbirth. Only other factors in my life at the time was a stressful fall out with my manager at work. Is this likely to be the reason or is it "just one of those things"?

The reason I ask is that the problems with my manager are ongoing and my Partner & I are about to try for another baby and I'm worried that if this situation was a factor in what happened that it could jepordise any subsequent pregnancy.

Hi babe,
I'm one of those people that really does know how you feel
My daughter died during delivery, due to a ruptured placenta.
I beleive it started when I rolled over in bed,
And I was also in an abusive relationship.

If no medical cause was found, I think that it was not due to stress,
I know exactly what you are going through,
And although you won't forget, you do get used to living with the pain,
I had another baby 4 years after my daughters death,
I was incredibly frightened as I had a 1 in 10 chance of losing her,Luckily they delivered her 3 weeks early.
I must urge you to talk to SANDS as they can answer your questions, many times have they helped me when the pain was too bad to breathe.

if you need to talk please email me.
lots of caring thoughts are sent to you xx

It depends what the cause of death was? But smoking certainly wouldnt contribute to a healthy pregnancy. I smoked through 2 pregnancys when i was younger(NOT PROUD OF IT I AM NOW A NON SMOKER) and both my children were premature by 3 and 5 weeks, I am now TTC and have not smoked for 4 years BUT have had 2 miscarriages this year. Take care hun xx

this has just happened to a friend of mine she was 5 days over her due date when her baby died and every thing was fine with her all through her pregnancy and when she started to get pains she was so pleased because she thought labour had finally started and with in an matter of half an hour the baby had died they don't know why this happened yet but she didn't have stressful time at work or anything like that so i think you should just put it down to 1 of those very sad things that happens in life im sorry for your loss xx

Stress is never good for getting preganant, a pregnancy or for parenting. you really need to find a way to over come the stress situation.
it wouldn't cause a still birth though. some things just happen like that, because that is how nature works. don't beat yourself up about it. may people have babies under stressful situations and the babies go to term and are physically fine...
stress can affect your breast milk quality and production... so perhaps factor in your decision about breast, bottle or both.
good luck! :)

I was reading an article in the mirror last week,it suggested that many still births and premature births were due to women carrying on into late pregnancy at work.I do think it may be an added factor, women are working further into their pregnancys. You are legally allowed to start maternity leave 11 weeks before your due date.Im expecting my 3rd and i am definately going to start my maternity leave then. The main problem in the uk is that most families cant afford for one partner to be out of work and its a shame when you want to have a family,in past generations women were at home,so maybee we are not really supposed to have the stress of work whilst being pregnant.

Could be, but it could be a number of possibilities...you may want to ask your doc about it. Also, with such a loss (I've miscarried while on the job), you reach out to many desperate angles and want an answer to something which at this time makes no reasonable sense. I do wish you the best of luck and hope all goes well. Take care of yourself and keep healthy. May God bless and be with you.

its a possability. i think my m/c were down to stress. i was emotional stressed out at home as well as the stress from work.

ive got preg since but have eradicated all stressfull things and it seems to be going well. i was also given no reason for my loses (i lost 5 babies over 2 1/2 years)
