my hair is really thick so th back of my neck is always hot but dont want my hair to get much thinner at all

an section like professional-cuts, pastime-clips, great-cuts. must have some stylists that can skinny your hair with thinning scissors. i'm a guy too. Ive were given thick, immediately hair. It sounds like crap if i attempt to make stronger it lengthy, a buzz or a fade works ideal for me. Low upkeep with short hair as well

I have really thick hair and i always get my hairdresser to thin it with thinning scissors. my hair still looks full but is much easier to manage. You could maybe get a few layers cut in or just tie it back

Ask your stylist to take a little "weight" off by using a razor to add long layers. Be sure that the stylist you are using knows how to "razor cut" hair and understands what you are trying to accomplish. Good luck to you.

wear it up or just get a light relaxer to kid of relax the thickness so it wont be as hot
