I met her through an online dating website. I didn't think the site would work and it seemed stupid until I met her, anyways...

Last night I talked to her on the phone for 6 1/2 hours... up talking till 4 in the morning.

I think she's interested because no one would talk to someone that long on the phone if they weren't... she's also a really really nice person and i'm really interested in her.

Problem? She lives in CT and i live in Long Island, New York. That's a 2 hour drive or If I take a fairy over to CT from LI, it's an hour boat ride for me an hour drive for her if she picks me up... a little out of the way, I know. But we're adults so after meeting each other, if we're comfortable, I won't mind staying at her place for a weekend or she staying at mine but what my question is...

Is something THIS long distance worth it? Its hard to find nice people in my area whom I like so maybe I should go for it. What do others think? Has anyone else been through this before?

If you felt a connection with her...and felt that something great and serious can come out of it...then by all means, yes, it is worth it!!!! However, if you believe that it is only a temporary relationship, then it is not worth the waiting and thinking....

Remember, long distance relationships take a lot of work...both parties should be fully committed to the relationship...there should be 100% trust, and there should be constant communication...so, if you believe that something real and long-lasting can come out of your relationship with her, then go for it!

Two hours isn't that long. I use to like a girl on the west coast I live on the Southeast. Of course she turned out to be a psycho(claimed I got her pregnant though the internet) . Go for it. You never know unless you try.

Don't mind some of the stupid answers on here. Of course it can work, if you both want it to. Who knows what could develop. Maybe one of you could move closer or something. The future is wide open...and if it doesn't work, at least you won't be seeing her at any neighborhood grocery stores :)

So Far Away, Yet Always Close
by Steve Forsythe
So far away...
the beaches which you walk.

Yet so close...
always in my heart.

So far away...
I cannot touch your hand,
I cannot feel your breath,
I cannot hold you close.

Yet so close...
I can feel you in my heart,
I can see you in my mind,
I can hear you in my ears.

You can go so far away...
You can travel to the ends of the earth...

But as long as I have your love...
As long as I have you...
You will always be close.

For,
As sure as the sun rises,
And the tides will change,
I will always love you,
An you will always be close to my heart.

The challenge is not the distance, it is the signals she gives you
She gives you flirting signals. You interpret it as relationship signals. SO IT SO WORTH TO VISIT HER.

Go for it...if you feel that you can make it work than distance doesn't matter!
