Yes, I have Installed glass block showers before. I also have some in my own shower. It is a great look and let's alot of light into the shower area.
The ones I have installed for others are a whole wall of glass blocks. In my shower I only installed 2 small glass block windows near the top of the shower wall. I did this to keep soap scum from building up on the mortar joints between the blocks. That way I got the benefit of the extra light and deco quality but reduced the chance of soap scum build up.
I have done tile and glass block work for 36 years so if you have any more questions, just ask me.

I installed a single glass block shower wall and it really added light to the room. You can do it too by following these instructions here: http://www.miconstruguia.com/en/how-to-install-glass-block/

Yes- well only a partial wall. The wall is lit from underneath and it looks pretty cool.
