How leaves grow in a special shape on a perticular plant? I wonder in the plants there must be a central brainI wonder in the plants there must be a central brain. like maple leave has a special shape. When cells are deviding and increasing to make a leave, they should just spread around in randome maner, how they know to make a maple leaf shape? Individual nucleaous should gide a single cell's operations, it may not be able to determine the position of the new cell relative to other cells. Pobably I am able to explain my question. How cells arrange themselves relative to each other to make so definate shaps of leaves. If plants do not have a central brain, then cells must communicate with each other.

The brain is absent in plants but they show co-ordination in branching, flowering and fruiting because there are phyto-hormones or growth regulators synthesized at the site where ever they are required.

That question will take you far into biology.

No, it is not the brain. Your brain doesn't tell cells which ones should be skin or muscle or blood vessel.

Do some reading on stem cells.
