Injections hurt more because although, it is for a shorter period of time, quite often the effects of the drugs themsleves can casue discomfort that persists long after the shot is given. And actually, the pain that results from blood tests is actually rather pleasant.

The anxiety over both is far worse than the actual event. The anxiety lasts a long time if you let it and the injection or blood test lasts a very short time.
If you keep this in mind and know that both will be over shortly you can relieve yourself of a lot of anxiety and worry. Relax and it will be all over in a flash!!
I used to give myself two injections weekly and it never felt like more than a tiny pin prick. A splinter feels worse than an injection.

Blood tests hurts more for me because it is not as instant as a injection ( which ususal is quick and painless), the viles need to be filled and then the removal of the needle from the vein....oww...

well, i am on the young side ((12)) and i had to get my blood taken a bunch of times whenever i was about top get my tonsils out and whenever i got my blood taken it was nothing that hurts worse then the first minute of a bee sting... but gettig injections is a whole nother story..... good luck

I am an R.N. and have drawn blood and given injections many times. Often , the patient never felt a thing...partly due to good technique, partly due to good veins, and a lot of good luck!

IF i had to pick one---injection------but they really don't hurt ask for the BUTTERFLY needle if you are afraid.
