While I am not sure of being able to get tapeworm from food. Adults in my life were not just trying to scare me by claiming it is possible to get them from near where animals have relieved themselves when it is left there for a while.

I don't know, but I'm not a fan of undercooked food, including prime rib that a lot of people like to eat rare.
