Tommy Burns is rank as a club manager, jumped ship at Killie before he got found out, was a disaster at Celtic and Reading! Alex McLeish, the man who gave Paul Lambert a free transfer then made a pile of of piss poor signings with Rangers has no chance! All of the top level Scots have jobs and no one wants the poisoned chalice because they all know that France was a freak result and whoever takes it, it will be a disaster!

Moyes is a hero, for everton fanatics that is, he has managed a squad of 11 with out the support of strikers, they even smashed Liverpool out of the FA cup, now appear at Manchester city in the league in comparison with Everton who barley spent something on avid gamers within the transfer window besides a mortgage. Moyes is right for the reason that he wishes to make the participant recognize him and his squad, a supervisor would get walked in all places with energy and respect = energy. Moyes should ship a assertion, he will have to prove that he has done nothing fallacious but stand his ground and be respected. Moyes is a good manager.

Not many options despite the Newspaper reports. Nobody currently in a Club job is likely to take it. Scotland are not going to qualify for Euro 2008 because we just haven't got the quality of Player to get us through this Group. Big Eck and Gary McAllister have to be the favourites for the job but it is a lost cause.

One man who definitely should not get the job is Tommy Burns. The man has flopped wherever he has been manager(Killie, Celtic, Reading). Why do you think he has only had jobs in the backroom staff? The man is clearly not up to it and God help us if he is appointed as Scotland manager.

Steve Nicol! Wouldn't be expensive and would jump at the chance. Also has a reasonably good and improving record in the MSL. Could do wonders. Otherwise it's proven also-rans. Worth taking something of a chance with someone who has winning experience as a player with one of the greatest sides ever (Liverpool).

i think either burns or mcleish would do a suitable job!

mcleish is a good manager, he only went bad at rangers when he lost the fans, dressing room and financial backing of the board (and what a saviour paul le guen was eh?)

burns is also a fantastic manager in my opinion, he took celtic as far as he could take them when he was in charge, at the time rangers were dominant and it was going to take something different to change it! in came wim jansen and rangers domination was no more!

at the end of the day whoever is tasked with the enviable job of being scotland manager, they are going to struggle to get us through this group, the best manager money could buy would struggle to get us through this group!

we are two small a nation with two many clubs not giving young, scottish talent a chance (ie celtic, rangers and now hearts)

None of them inspire much excitement.

Moyes would be the best of a mediocre bunch, but I doubt the SFA could afford to buy him out of his contract with Everton.

The ideal choice would be Sir Alex, but I suppose there's no chance of that at all.

Personally, I wouldnt object to another foreign manager if the SFA could appoint someone with a bit of proven quality. Hiddink maybe?
