Tylenol, Advil, Aleve - all of these will lower fever. But you also need to find out what's giving you a fever. Sounds like your sinuses might be infected. Try some Claratin or Benedryl. You may eventually need to see a doctor and get some antibiotics.

I'd be real careful about the cold baths. That's only for extreme circumstances. Wrapping up in a blanket and sweating is much better than cold water. Take a hot bath, instead. It'll help open up your sinuses.

Tylenol . ice packs cold drinks bath in cold or cool water.
a fever for 5 days is getting to the limit of how long a person should go without seeing a doctor.
a low grade fever is a good thing . this is the natural way your body is working to fight the illness only a fever that lasts longer then 5 days or is very high should be stopped.

Five days is a long time to have a fever you should really see a Dr. also taking advil or asprin is the best, but don't ever give aspirin to a child or young adult. Also take wam showers that will also help. If the fever isn't to bad and you can take the time off alot of people now realize it's natures way of killing off the virus that is causing it. So there are some choices. Good luck

Acetaminophen, ibuprophen, cool showers/baths, I've heard of wiping the skin with rubbing alcohol to cool it too. Fever serves a purpose though, so getting rid of it completely may not be a good idea. Your body heats up to help your immune system kill the bacteria or virus that you are infected with. With a fever going on for 5 days though, I would see a doctor or call a health help line. Not only can they provide you with info. about your condition, but they can also let you know what type of illnesses are going around. If it sounds like you've got a serious infection that looks like something going around in your community, they may want you to come in for treatment. Hope you are well again soon.

Hospitals always use Tylenol to lower fevers. I used aspirin a few weeks ago for a high fever and it worked like a champ. So I suggest either one.

feewer is a healty sighn that your body is fighting against illnes. So not too high feever should be ok. If it is very high, you can take analgetics.
In any case, I think that instead of asking us here what to do you should see your docotr. having a fever can be anything from virus to pneumonia,. If you do not know the cose of your fever I definitely suggest to go and see your dock.
And of course, drinking a lot can help!
Hope this helps.

Take Motrien or Tylenol. If they dont help, jump into a cold shower or pool and stay in there for about 10 min or so.

You might have to do the pool thing a few times within a few hours.

Good luck!

God Bless

go to the doctor immediately.

i would have said try some ibuprofen, or another pain reliever, because they have fever reducers in them. however, your fever has stayed with you too long. you need to go see why you have it, instead of just getting rid of it. because it'll probably come back if you don't.

fever is there to fight your disease...talk to a doctor if it goes over 101. You might need an antibiotic....my child had 105 when she was 9 months old..they laid a sheet over her and put ice on it..she is a woman now . It worked!
