Ghandi was a great man, but he didn't know the actual goal of life. He did not understand Bhagavad Gita As it is. It took it in a materialistic say. He was a nationalist. We have to go beyond nationalism to understand Absolute Truth. Their are many great souls on the planet you just have to be sincere to seek them out and get their association. Read Bhagavad Gita As its is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada This gives one the actual Purport of the Gita without mental speculation. Prabhupada was greater because he understood Krishna perfectly.

The greatest soul? All souls are the same. Gandhi would be the first to tell you that.

I think there were greater souls than him like Buddha and Christ but some statesman or politician with his enlightened outlook would be a benefit to the modern world.

Yep.. it would be fantastic if we did have someone like him around today.
I'm pretty sure we have plenty of modern "Gandhi's" they just won't come out into the public and make something of their great souls.

He was certainly one of the number of prophets and seers of good the world has known. He can be counted for good.
