I am clueless what to give my son! He's not going to need clothing or jewelry as the marine's will be his mama and provider. I was thinking of an engraved charm or coin he could carry with him. Will they allow that? Help me out here... Thanks! Or visit me on yahoo 360!

An engraved coin, etc to remember you is a great idea.. get it blessed too if you are religious.... keep that boy safe, otherwise.. does he have a good Ipod/etc to use while working out? I know my air force friends are loving their ipods etc to help them out while over seas.. not sure of marine rules though... maybe you should spoil the heck out of him now.. lol. :) I am sure you will find some great stuff for him.

He won't be able to take it with him ( he can but it will go in his civy clothes lock up). You can mail him pictures after he gets there. A good gift would be gift cards or cash or a note that he will get the gift when he is finished with boot camp.

Stock in a company !!

No time like the present to get them interested in their financial future. They can't have anything with them in the military anyway so make it something that can be growing while he is away !!!

You can even get stock directly from companies. Check out "direct purchase plans" on the web and see if there is a company that interests you. Simply call them and request their prospectus and investor package, ITS FREE !!

phone cards, gift visa card, something he can keep in his wallet.
He will get homesick and want to call you.
