It's not always just a matter of being more self-confident...i'm generally a fairly friendly person towards others. However, when I'm around people I don't know that well, especially guys, and especially guys i'm interested in..my mind goes blank, and I can't think of anything to talk about...I end up coming off as shy and awkward. any pointers?

LOTS of people are like that. You just need to have more confidence in yourself. What's the worst thing that could happen if you say something wrong? You could just laugh it off.

I feel that way sometimes too (with the opposite sex, that is... because I'm a guy), but what I've been finding out so far is that shyness is just a condition, like any, that happens when you're too serious about it, or worrying what others think about you too much. If you learn to just laugh, have a good time and accept uncertainty, then your shyness will probably never, ever come back! Good luck, I hope I helped you :)

Why would you want to? Being shy is a turn on to many guys at least I know it was to me. I'm not one for the out going ladies. They may know what they want and strive to get it (which is fun too) but shy girls have a (forgive this expression) cuteness about them that others could never have.

You'll grow out of some of your shyness in time but savor it while you have it. When the time comes and it's the right guy, he won't be able to shut you up (not that he'd want to).

well just think of it this way...

you don't care about other peoples actions around you right?

so no one really cares about your's

you can act like a fool..a jackass..and the person will only probaly make a face at you and never think about you again...
