Why would you get a dog and keep it outside all of the time?

This is information from the US but probably pertains to dogs everywhere - Working up a good sweat in the hot summer months may be good for you, but it can lead to heat stroke in your dog and kill him in a matter of minutes. Heat stroke is a dangerous condition that takes the lives of many animals every year. Your dog's normal body temperature is 100.5 to 102.5 degrees Fahrenheit. If it rises to 105 or 106 degrees, the dog is at risk for developing heat exhaustion. If the body temperature rises to 107 degrees, your dog has entered the dangerous zone of heat stroke. With heat stroke, irreversible damage and death can occur. Be cautious and make sure your dog does not overheat by making sure he has a lot of cool water and cool area to rest.

Dogs are social animals.Ever hear a dog constantly barking? That's probably because he is kept outdoors, and he is lonley and depressed. If you are worried about shedding, get a large breed terrier. They don't shed.It is cruel and inhumane to keep an animal outdoors all the time, unless you are living outside with him.Be a respossible pet owner, and do the right thing.Give him a crate large enough for him to move around in.Close it at night, and open the door durring the day,so he can come and go as he pleases.Oh,and give himn plenty of love, and attention.

A shepherd will not do well outside in the heat. I live in Florida and we have a similar problem and I know I cannot live my shepherd out there during the summer hot months.

dogs have to be in a cool spot too...if you leave him out in the heat, he will DIE of heat stroke...would YOU like to be out in the HOT sun and not be able to get cooled off? I don't think you are really capable of having one..Dogs are pack animals, and need to be with other people and dogs too, not just tied outside...Get a plant for the window sill
